Resilience NSW
Resilience NSW
The NSW Government announced the establishment of Resilience NSW in April. Resilience NSW is the lead disaster management agency for NSW, responsible for all aspects of disaster recovery and building community resilience to future disasters. They oversee and coordinate emergency management policy and service delivery with a focus on social, economic, infrastructure and natural environment outcomes.
Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons has been appointed to lead Resilience NSW following more than 30 years’ experience with the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS). Regional NSW will work closely with Resilience NSW on community and business recovery from the bushfires and COVID-19.
To help stop the spread of COVID-19, all Recovery Centres and Assistance Points have been temporarily closed. Vital bushfire recovery information and supports can still be accessed by phone and online.
