iKew Playground Opening
The Camden Haven Chamber was delighted to be a part of the official opening of the new playground at the iKew Visitor Information Centre this morning.
The new playground which was designed and installed by Port Macquarie-Hastings Council, was funded through the Department of Premier and Cabinet through the Stronger Country Communities Fund.
The design and construction of the playground involved close consultation and engagement with iKew Visitor Information Centre volunteers as well as other key community groups. The playground features a replica of Nancy Bird Walton’s plane and picnic tables built by the Kendall Men’s Shed as well as swings, a slippery dip and flying fox.
The Camden Haven Chamber is very excited to have this new playground at iKew Visitor Information Centre, the southern gateway to the Camden Haven and Port Macquarie-Hastings LGA. We’re sure this new attraction will add to iKew’s reputation as a great stopping point along the Pacific Highway and create more opportunities to convert travelers in transit to day or overnight stay visitors.
