Covid Safe Businesses
Are you required to register as a COVID- Safe business?
Registering as a COVID-Safe business is mandatory for hospitality venues such as cafes, restaurants, food and drink premises, micro-breweries, cellar doors, casinos, registered clubs, small bars and casinos. Other businesses may also register as COVID-safe. Although it is not mandatory for all other businesses, it is recommended.
To ensure you are COVID-Safe please ensure you:
- Complete a COVID-19 Safety Plan – Not sure where to start? You can find a range of helpful templates and information on the NSW Health Website. Select your industry and you’ll be given information specific to your business which will help you to build a personalised COVID-Safe plan for your business in no time.
- Register as a COVID Safe business – once you register online as a COVID-Safe business, you will receive access to digital assets to use on your website and social media platforms, as well as signage that you can print out and display in your business.
- Show that you’re COVID Safe – first things first, ensure your staff are aware of what actions and precautions you’ve committed to in the plan. Your customers will want to know whether you’re COVID-Safe so it’s important you shout it from the rooftops! Display signage clearly at the front entrance to your business and share updates on social media explaining how you’re making your business COVID-Safe. Make sure you have a customer registration process in place as well, so that all customers who visit your business can be contacted in the future if needed.
