Celebrating Small Business & 30 years of Chamber
The Camden Haven Chamber of Commerce (CHCC) hosted a celebratory breakfast for their 30th Anniversary and NSW Small Business Month at the Camden Haven Surf Life Saving Club on Tuesday 22nd October. The event was attended by over 50 Chamber members and guests including business owners, community groups, past presidents and committee members, councillors and council staff.
The event celebrated and showcased small business in the Camden through a panel discussion comprising of local small business owners including Helen from The Pied Piper, Gavin from Camvet, Jenny from Camden Haven Travel, Christie from Fieldwork Flowers and Peter from Camden Haven Tyre & Brake Centre. The panellists provided their insights into how and why small businesses need to adapt to the changing marketplace, the key skills required of small businesses and the challenges they had overcome as small business owners.
The event also celebrated 30 years of Camden Haven Chamber, with an address from the 1986 President John Barrett. Many past presidents and committee members of the Camden Haven Chamber attended. Bringing together past and present faces at this well attended event culminated in a valuable networking and learning opportunity for all. Current President, Stuart Bate, shared the Chamber’s 2025 Strategic Plan and 2019 Action Plan which includes the pressure cleaning of Laurieton Main Street footpath and the Lighting Up Laurieton Christmas project.
The venue was kindly provided by the Camden Haven Surf Life Saving Club and breakfast was catered by Brew Haven Café.
The Chamber’s AGM is on Wed 30th October 6pm at the Kendall Showgrounds.
